Wakker Prize 2025
The Swiss Heritage Society has awarded the 2025 Wakker Prize to the municipality of Poschiavo.
The municipality of Poschiavo has been awarded the prestigious 2025 Wakker Prize. This prize is presented annually by the Swiss Heritage Society to Swiss municipalities - or, in exceptional cases, to institutions - that stand out for urban development projects that respect architectural quality and the surrounding landscape.
The award recognizes the municipality’s efforts to preserve and enhance its built heritage and to implement sustainable initiatives, including the restoration of historic village centers, the rebuilding of dry-stone walls on hillside terraces, the 100% Valposchiavo initiative, and the valley’s rich cultural offerings.
The official award ceremony will take place on August 23, 2025, in the town square of Poschiavo. Several events related to the prize are planned throughout the year.
